My head is still in the clouds after last night's Eco Chic Design Award show. I can't really begin to express how excited I was to have an opportunity to be there, but also to sit in the front row.
I did take lots of pictures, some of which have made it to my Instagram feed, but I'll post the others when the weekend comes and I can write up the event properly. Feel free to pop over and look on my feed @imanorbyah if you're curious. (By the way, did you notice my new social media buttons? I think I need to make them smaller, don't you?)
But moving onto the topic of this post...do you know those mornings when you look in your closet and you're like I don't know what to wear??? I realize expressing that sentiment as a major dilemma for my morning sounds shallow, but so be it. I couldn't think. In hindsight, I think those mornings usually are a result of feeling overwhelmed with so much to do rather than feeling uninspired.
Well, I had one of those mornings last week. Like if I actually tried to feel inspired and try a bunch of things on, I might end up with a whole new floor-drobe. I just needed to get to school to deal with the stuff that was overwhelming me. So I had to think quick and I really didn't have time to pick up lots of clothes and hang them up again.
Then I had a moment of clarity. I had kind of been wanting to wear my Five Stones Vintage maxi skirt from Etsy again. It has such a wonderful spinnability. What better way to style a dramatic skirt like this one but with the neutral colors white and cream?
It's such a sophisticated pairing, don't you think? And with just a hint of blue from my Shoemint loafers and my new green jade earrings (a sweet birthday gift from the hubby and kiddos), I was ready!
TGIF (nearly!)

You look smart and interesting. I just got a skirt like that for Christmas, only it is split into PANTS! I'm so in love with it. VERY comfortable.
