Normally, I'm ecstatic about the holidays. I have made it known that Christmas is my favorite time of year, right? I love the traditions, Love Actually, baking Christmas cookies, visiting Santa, mint m&m's and lots of eating. And of course, new traditions begin each year.
I'll be honest, though, this year has been less festive than most. Between illness (nearly all of us, including the visiting family) and a scary hospital stay for my niece, and now a reemergence of the vomiting bug that started it all (I've been up since 4:15 this morning with Ella), I'm feeling blah.
Christmas is in two days and I've not even finished my shopping. I haven't really even had time to think about presents for the kiddos. And, really, this holiday is really so much for them. At this point it kind of feels rushed and like a just get it to get something and that makes me feel super upset. I'm thankful that at least I was able to get the kiddos out to see some of the Christmas displays yesterday and we even popped into the last day of The Gift Shop at Little Square. I'm thinking a visit to Santa at Pacific Place is probably out. Sigh.
So, I'm going to give the blog a holiday (not that I've posted in nearly a week, but still). I'll leave you with my very last outfit pics of the year, taken by the now sick Ella. Lovely vintage dress from Vic and Lily (love her) and my newish Shoemint booties.
Looking forward to starting it out fresh in 2014!
