Girl with a Pearl Earring...or at least a vintage one

Weekend wear, for me, has to be a little bit more practical.  I spend most of it shuttling kiddos between ballet, rugby, and now gymnastics while also trying to squeeze in a Primal workout.

I'll be honest, though, I kind of have a hard time just throwing on something to schlep around in.  And I don't mean that to sound snobbish.  I mean I physically do not know what to wear to dress down and not look sloppy.  My big girl even asks me, "Mummy, do you always have to look so nice?"  (Inadvertently paying me a compliment).

The thing is, I love wearing vintage, and that usually ends up looking a bit more dressed up.  I came across this sweet blouse in Vic and Lily's Etsy shop which kind of bridges the gap.

Paired with these Goodwill special denim cutoffs and my sandals from Menorca, the ensemble was a perfect weekend runaround look.

On this Saturday, two weekends ago, I was finally able to catch up with my vintage soul sister, Jackaline for a coffee and super speedy outfit shoot (on my way to pick up Ella from ballet).  I love these colorful tiled stairways for outfit pics.  Something about the light and the color that makes it a lovely backdrop.

It was uncanny, too, how both Jackie and I thought this one picture was very Vermeer-esque.  It was quite by accident, but I love it.

Don't forget to check out Vic and Lily's Etsy shop before the end of September.  She's offering my readers a special discount with the code VICLILY2.

I agree with Caitlin, the Vermeer-esque aspect of the last photo is pretty awesome. I have been admiring those sandals for forever! Love them.
