We've escaped from the city for a bit. The whole dang lot of us.
It's so rare, with a family of our size, to be able to have time all together. Even at Christmas, when we're usually all together, we're split between two houses so we don't get to just lounge until the wee hours or wake up and sit in our jammies drinking coffee.
But for one week, this week, we're enjoying extended family time. Sisters, cousins, in-laws, grandparents, parents. Good stuff.
Today we ventured over to check out the surf in Montauk.
My sister and her partner surfed away, while the kiddos enjoyed body surfing in the little waves that lapped the shore.
I got a rare smile from my big boy.
I love it when he smiles.
I love the sea air. Smelling the salty humid air reminded me of sitting on the beach at St Stephens. And, what a small world, we bumped into someone we know from Hong Kong.
And, would you look at this guy? Gosh, I love him.
