I wore a nightgown yesterday. Outside. All day.
Who says you can't? Pfft....conventions.
I saw Nadia from Frou Frouu do this first, with a vintage nightgown here. When I found this one in Stanley, I thought it would be a perfect summer dress. It actually came with billowy sleeves (and looked like a nightgown a frontier woman might wear), so my trusted seamstress in Stanley took the sleeves right off and took some of the width in to make it slightly less shapeless. I still wanted it to be kind of loose and flowy, and I think this fits the bill.
Since it is a nightgown, I'm going to have to figure out how to style it in the summer (it doesn't leave much to the imagination). For now, it worked to wear tights underneath and a cardigan over the top.

Can you believe this blue sky? |
It wasn't until I got to school that I realized (and a few colleagues and students commented) that I looked like I was wearing a nurse's uniform. One student even commented that I looked like Mother Teresa. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Note to self: try to style this up in a more bohemian way next time. Think hat, lots of bracelets, and necklaces. Channel Nadia a little more.

that's a pretty stand out collar on a nightgown!
That doesn't look like a nightgown because of the collar! I love how you style it with such strong accessories and the headscarf and red lip!

Oh my goodness, it was the collar that sold me on it in the first place. Amazing, isn't it?
Greatt!
