I wanted to call this post Little boy things, but he's not so little anymore.
Monday was a trying day to be my little boy's mother, let me tell you. After finally getting his regular Monday playdate arranged (for big boys, so I don't think I can call it a playdate), yesterday was the first day for it to actually happen. We've had a number of other things interfere (camp, holidays). This playdate is supposed to consist of Buddy and his friend getting off the bus by our local grocery store, choosing a snack, walking down to the friend's mum's classroom to drop off bags, and playing on the field or in the playground.
All of that happened, but we got something extra. A gum nest. In his hair. I'll spare you all the details, but suffice it to say, I found out that peanut butter really does work. And, untangling knots out of hair is a pretty effective method of getting out the truth, which in this case was just a little bit of boyish silliness and an accidental misplacement of gum (intended for the back of Buddy's shirt).
Anyhow, he took these pictures of his lego dude posed in battle and of my outfit when we escaped to our roof for a break. It was our way of making a bad situation feel better.
We had to catch the remaining daylight, so the pics are kind of grainy.
And my usual graffiti wall was blocked with a table.
While I look grumpy, at this point I wasn't anymore.
By the way, please let him know what you think of his lego pics, he's dying for a comment.
