Crazy hot

NYC is experiencing a heat wave at the moment.  Our first week was pleasant.  Warm, but pleasant.  Not too humid and not too hot.  Now, we're scorching.  Like burn your feet on the pavement and on iron gates at the park hot.

Today, we braved the heat to explore the Brooklyn Flea.

Let's just say we'll have to go back because I got to see nothing but the grilled cheese stand.  By the time we finished feeding kids while trying to keep them out of the direct sun, we got too hot and had to leave.

We enjoyed the rest of the steamy day hanging at my youngest sister and her boyfriend's house in Brooklyn.  We poked around in their backyard garden (Cally loved the fresh mint and the raspberries). The kids had a water balloon fight and Cally slowly grew a little more comfortable around their dog, Max.

And, as we do everyday, we ate some pretty yummy food.  Tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, pork buns.  So good.

When my family is all together on vacation, our daily itineraries always center around food.  It's a serious factor we consider.  Can you blame us?

My hubby has dedicated a tumblr to his eating adventures.  Check it out here.

The mention of The Brooklyn Flea gets my heart rate moving. I am leaving Sydnew on the 4th to fly to NYC, arriving on the fourth! I love mexican food too. I am so excited to be coming to NYC and am mostly looking forward to finding some good flea markets. Any suggestions you could email to me would be fantastic. In fact any recommendations of the funkier things to do and go and eat would be very welcome. I love the pic of you eating. hehehe
