The sun decided to make an appearance for our day in Santa Monica.
Luckily, I picked up this big floppy hat at Target the day before knowing my skin is no match for the California sun.
I noticed the angled hemlines on skirts and dresses in almost all the stores on the Promenade, and then realized that the dress I was wearing had a very subtle angled hem. I like the look of the angled hem, but I'm glad my dress does this only slightly or I'm sure it would become one of those items of clothing I'd look at in a year and not want to wear because it's out of date.
June gloom still lingers, so I borrowed this cute military inspired jacket from my sister-in-law, whose family we're visiting.
It reminded me of a similar jacket I have at home in Hong Kong, which I should put in the outfit rotation. I'll have to wait until November, when the weather cools off enough to wear it.
On our walk to the Santa Monica pier to see the ferris wheel, I stumbled onto this mobile boutique in a little truck. I love the idea of mobile shopping.
Check out their website here.
Joey and Ella jumped on the ferris wheel, which turned out to be a bit more than little Ella bargained for. She spent most of the ride with her head buried in Joey's lap.
But it looks like the views of the coastline were breathtaking.
We have one more beach day planned today before we're off to NYC tomorrow.
