Bow tie

I've been noticing lots of bow ties on the fashion blogs lately.  They've caught my eye.

I've even pinned some on Pinterest.

I really liked this black and white one that I saw on Blushing Ambition.

Then, out of the blue, my dear dear friend Emily popped one in the mail for me (hidden in with the cute outfit she bought for Cally, her goddaughter) .  Emily is the kind of friend who pays attention to these small things (she must have seen the one I pinned), and who always has a way of making me feel really loved.  I cannot wait to catch up with her this summer.

Speaking of feeling loved, in the last week I've been given some of the most thoughtful gifts from some of my seniors.  My homeroom gave me these awesome shoes, along with a cute dress and what they called my quintessential red lipstick.  Another student gave me a really cool wallet (mine was falling apart and I was holding it together with a hair tie, no joke).  And yesterday, a student who is going off to study fashion gave me a gift that she had actually made for me.  I was so touched.

How did I get so lucky?

Outfit details:  BDG jeans, vintage Levis chambray shirt, Michael Kors watch, Lorie Lu original bow tie (made by my dear friend Emily's friend Lorie),  bracelets & earrings from various markets, Vickie's sandals (copy of my sister's), and in the last picture AMAZING heels a gift!
