Funny, all it takes is a few days in NYC for me to feel like I have absolutely no style whatsoever. Everyone here is so cool. I love this city. Yesterday, I even struck out on my own to meet a woman in the Bronx for a work-related meeting. I navigated the West Village on my own to find the subway, and rode all the way uptown to her university. It was a real step for me.
I don't know what it is about being here in NYC with my sisters that makes me lose confidence, but going out by myself made me feel good. More about my trip and pictures of my niece and nephew will come when I get back to Hong Kong on the weekend.
So, here are some pictures of my newly altered blue dress from Fancy Treehouse which I blogged about here. I loved the blue dress at it's original length, but was worried I wouldn't wear it very often. It felt a bit like an evening gown and I wanted to wear it more casually.
So, I took it to Master Wong (a new shop I'll write about soon) who with his wife does alterations to clothes as well as repair shoes, make hats, etc. His wife brought up the hem, but retained it's original design. It turned out better than I imagined.
We've had amazing Spring weather here in NYC. I'm enjoying this week, but I miss my kids. Thank goodness for Skype. Though I know when I go home, I'll be missing my sisters like crazy. I wish I could have them with me in Hong Kong. I can't wait till we're all together again in the summer.
