Stanley Market is a popular Hong Kong tourist destination. I avoid it on the weekends when it's swarming with people who are in there trying to find a bargain. I meander through these lanes when I'm in there during the week, dropping kids at art or drum class or when I need to go to the post office. When you google Stanley Market, you'll likely see images like this one of the opening of the market with it's souvenir t-shirts, stamps, postcards, trinkets and scarves. In fact, that's where I got this image. It's not one of my own pictures.

Yet, if you look closer, you'll see the old woman pushing the cardboard recycling up the road. You'll find the fairy shop where I get my girls their dress ups. You'll meet Lisa, who we go to for all our t-shirts and scarves. You'll see the shoe shop where we buy our kids their school shoes. And, this is just in the main lane of the market.
So, each week, I'd like to share with you a glimpse into My Stanley. To introduce to you the people I know and love, who make this neighbourhood my home.
