It's been quite a big week at home. The hubby has spent the last three days painting bedrooms so that we can give my son his own big kid room, and put the girls in together.
We chose bright colors to do accent walls after five years of living with the neutral pallet of rented flats. In the house we owned in Madison, before moving to Hong Kong, we had the autonomy to pick colors for each room. I look back now and realize that we played it safe with our color selection. Not this time. I'm really excited by the bright blue and teal that we've painted in their rooms. And, more importantly, so are they.
So, now Buddy has the big boy room he's wanted (though in the last few days before the switch, he was still having reservations). I'm okay with that. He's still my baby boy.
And, my sweet girls have their girly room, as Ella put it.
Everything in there is going to be girly!
Tonight is the first night of the switch. I've tucked my littlest into a big girl bed.
No more cots in our house.
And, pretty soon, no more nappies. Just this week, she's been using the potty and really getting the hang of it. We celebrate and cheer every time she goes in the toilet. She's so proud, as are we.
All you mums out there will know what I mean when I say it's bittersweet.
