While I have yet to clear up my old blog, I am far to eager to get this one going to wait any longer. I've got some pictures waiting and some stories to tell - so I'm just going to jump in and go.
It seems that Ella grows in leaps and bounds. I know I wrote just a week ago about this very topic, but it's almost like each day I wake up, something is new. Last week, Joey and I had parent conferences and were lucky enough to start late enough to put both kids on the bus.
While Ella's bus is only a fraction of the size of Buddy's, it is no less exciting for her. She waits eagerly each morning with our friend and neighbour Lolly. Here they are - bright as buttons.
Buddy continues swimming lessons this fall. This morning was his second one and I am still amazed by how far he's come in just a year. Last year, we were cheering for him when he bravely put his head under the water. This year, he jumps into the deep end and swims to the ladder while practising his freestyle strokes and breathing. He loves it.
Last week, we also had a chance to catch up with our friends the Loos. Laetitia and Buddy are pre school friends. When we met them, Ella was just 7 months old. It's become a regular tradition to get together with them about once a month or so for pizza. Then we usually walk on the boardwalk to look for the cat and to bring it the bread balls from our salad. Laetitia and Buddy usually run way ahead while little Ella runs tirelessly behind them. This time, Andrew said what we all noticed; Ella has just grown up in front of us and the gap between the big kids and her keeps getting smaller.
One last story...
Yesterday morning, Ella was chattering away to her breakfast - oatmeal and dry granola on her mat- when all of a sudden I saw her point to a crumb of granola and say, You naughty. You go in my mouth! What a shriek she is.
