My friend Maria Villa, founder of Spanish Shoes HK, once said to me I'm Spanish and shoes are our thing. I was visiting her showroom in Sheung Wan an admiring all the Castells menorquinas she had in stock in their many candy colors.
I spend a great deal of summer (heck, of any time of the year) living in my menorquinas. I love them. I've acquired three pairs now, thank you Maria. It's safe to say I'm a huge fan and I can honestly say that I agree. Shoes definitely are their thing.
This past summer, my friend Maria shared some exciting things with me. She mentioned that she'd been working on her own shoe designs and asked me to take a look at some of the early promotional info and give her some feedback. I'm so excited that she's launched her line because now I can share some of her images here with you.
Her line of ballet flats is called Las Golondrinas or swallows in English. On her website, she tells a beautiful story about the significance of swallows in her childhood and how she'd been inspired to create her own line of shoes. They are now available at some retailers here in Hong Kong and of course, you can purchase them online with all of the other Spanish Shoes she stocks. Of course, they are made with the same quality and craftsmanship as the other Spanish Shoes she carries and with five different styles to choose from, you'll have a hard time just choosing one pair.
Congratulations, Maria! I can't wait to come and try them on for myself.
