Vintage for the win

I don't normally dress with a story in mind.  Usually, I go with what strikes me (either the night before or in the morning).

This was true the morning I threw on this Five Stones Vintage dress.  It was the Friday before our weeklong holiday and it just grabbed my eye.

For one, I knew I wanted to wear it with my knee high grey socks, and the weather was finally cool enough to do so.  Much cause to celebrate, believe me.  By no means are we having a brisk fall.  Those don't exist here, much as I wish they did.

But as I thought about it more, the novelty print of medals had a nice connotation, too.

For some reason, the school week felt extremely long.  I think that school days closer to a holiday go slower.  So, I really did feel like reaching Friday (and therefore our holiday) deserved some kind of medal.  A bit cheesy, I know, but that thought did cross my mind.

By the way, Five Stones Vintage on Etsy always has the best novelty prints.  I love them.
