Peplum

The other night, I was able to check out eco-conscious online boutique A Boy Named Sue's new spring collection at their launch in Central.  It was a lovely event and the new collection is full of fun pieces mindfully sourced worldwide by co-founders Tania and Sam.

Have a look for yourself.  Some of my favorites were the Sapa Biker Jacket and the Sapa Night Suede Gilet both from designer Thu Thu and the Vegan Suede Surf shorts from designer Hien Le.

Anyhow, I enjoyed doing something different from my usual routine for a school week.  The company was good and I love exploring a new place in Hong Kong.  The launch was held at Common Ground Cafe in Central, which is very near Yardbird (just up an alleyway of stairs).

That is not to mention all the creative people I mingled with, too.  Some blogger friends, some designers and others who were along to appreciate the new collection, like me.

I managed to quickly run up to my mum's rooftop before the event so she could snap some quick outfit pics.  We actually managed to find a dry spot in the weather.  Let's not go into the air quality.  That's just depressing.  We can pretend that you see mist rolling over the hills in the background.

The top is actually a vintage dress I picked up in NYC years ago.  It was already altered from it's original longer state, but I'd only worn it once, here.  Wow, what a blast from the past to see that post.  After much thought (and only wearing the dress once with tights), I decided the length didn't suit me so well.  It actually made me uncomfortable because it was simply too short.

So, I had it hemmed into this peplum blouse.  Much better.  I've always admired this trend and have been looking for something with a peplum waist.  I can't wait to wear it again.  Gosh, I'm lucky to have Jilly who does all my altering.
