Well, the good news is, I'm nearly all the way through the 21st and I'm still here. It's looking good for all of you living in the Western Hemisphere. I think the Mayan calendar may have misjudged this one.
Second full day into the holiday, and I'm also looking pretty good for holiday gifts. By Sunday, nearly my whole family will be here and we'll be ready to bring on the Christmas craziness.
Christmas is my favorite holiday because of all the traditions. For starters, I can't wait to watch Love Actually. The Christmas pudding is hanging up in my mum's kitchen. We'll read Wombat Divine (each with our own parts) for the kids on Christmas eve.
And each year, we begin new traditions. Last year it was our Elf on the Shelf, Elvis, which has our kiddos springing out of bed each morning to find where he's hiding. This year, I threw out a neighborhood decorating challenge called the Deck the Halls competition. I love that the little ones in the neighborhood giggle with giddy joy when they notice new decorations going up. It actually makes this school campus feel more like a neighborhood.
The pants in this post were so fun to wear, too. I felt a bit like I'd stepped back into the 90s, but given that the 90s is now considered vintage, I'm okay with that.
Hope you are all enjoying the traditions of this holiday with your families.
