We started with the seeds. First, Joey cleaned off some tomato seeds - both from the organic ones we have delivered as well as the yummy vine tomatoes from Taste. He did the same with the peppers. And we also bought strawberry seeds. After getting some potting soil from the nursery near the school, we were in business.
Before we knew it, we had sprouts! The kids had fun getting dirty and even more fun looking at the seedlings sprout up from the different pots.
These photos are almost two weeks old, but fun to see anyhow. I'll have to get some new pictures when we transplant the seedlings to their own pots. They're enormous now and they look like real little tomato and pepper plants. We think the strawberries are coming along as well - there was doubt at first.
Is there anything more exciting for little kids to watch? Their little minds are growing as they watch the seedlings grow. I have to admit, we big kids are pretty excited too!
